Eng: One of the most important things I learned this year is how to maintain motivation, good will and how to keep moving. Photography really started speaking to me, this is work I enjoy, work that allows me to get to know wonderful people and make them happy in my own way. Of course, it is not always easy and that is the right way.
It is impossible to go on without honesty. And photography requires that I am honest with myself, that I do what I believe in and what is close to me. From here I can get passion for the work I take and help chase away the doubts that arise. Honesty allows me to push myself just right and quickly solve the problems that arise. With honesty I mean that I always asks questions like what and how I want to say and show something and what do I want to do and take pictures off. And because I'm honest, I feel good about what I do and because I feel good, it is easier to keep my motivation. And more than I know what is really my own, easier it is to work with a lot more energy and motivation. Simple as that. :)

At the TED there is a very interesting movie entitled Richard St. John's 8 secrets of success, a short lecture for everyone no matter what you do. I learned about this clip on Nikon's photo day at the lecture of Borut Peterlin, which among others also quoted Martin Parr: "Persist so long that people could no longer afford to ignore you!" It is not difficult to persist if you work with passion and honesty. And slowly everything links.

This year was very enlightening and special for me. I met and made friends with many wonderful people, I made those exams in college that I intended to, and learned a lot about photography and with it about myself.

Thank you all for your encouraging words and wonderful company!

Happy New Year!

Laze

oz. jaz, kako se trudim posneti sprejemljivo fotografijo narave :)

Eng: or me trying to make an acceptable photography of nature. :)

Eng: Today we decided to go on a ride. And then I suggested that we drive to Planinsko field. So we got to a village Laze, and saw that the field is flooded. We stopped at the end of the road and I took this photo. Then we stood there for few moments and agreed on how fine it would be if we had a canoe with us (if you remember: that canoe, with which I Gašper and Luka rescued me from house: here). Next time it would be great to take it with us you and take a ride on Planisko lake.

Piškoti dobre volje

To so domači pirini piškoti z ovsenimi kosmiči kupljeni na ljubljanski tržnici. Rečem jim piškoti dobre volje preprosto zato, ker me vedno, kadar jih dobim, spravijo v zelo dobro voljo, saj so dani kot zahvala ali opravičilo. Pomenijo nekaj dobrega in slastnega :). Ponavadi si jih privoščim ob skodelici zelenega čaja. Pravzaprav ravno segrevam vodo in si pripravljam moj posladek dneva. :)

Eng: These are home-made biscuits from spelt flour with oat flakes purchased on Ljubljana's market. I call them biscuits of the good will simply because whenever I get them, they make me feel good, since they are given as a thanks or apology. They represent something good and tasty :). Usually I have them with a cup of green tea. In fact I am just heating the water to have my treat of the day. :)

Eng: December is a special time in a year. Because it is a time when I look back at the past year to see what I did, what I learned, what has changed. Time of the year than I always requires more honesty from me, because I want to step into the new year feeling fresh. :) And there is no better way to look back and think ahead as with someone that you are really close to. And that is why I like December.
It was cold that day, when Katja and I met. We decided to go to Tea house. We waited for a free table, ordered tea and talked. This is what really counts and is the best gift: having somebody to talk to.

Zadnja vrata

Vzela sem fotoaparat in pofotkala Gašperja in naju, potem sem pripravila fotoaparat in ga dala Gašperju. Nastala sta zgornja dva posnetka.
In midva sva si to "napako" res privoščila. :)

Eng: Last time Gašper and I went to pick up a van so that we could transfer some boards, piano and a couch. When we arrived at the address of the company, we went through the fence to the entrance and found out that this are actually the back door and that we have to go around. Wall and back doors were yellow, light on that site was totally beautiful. We almost left when I said that we have to go back. I took the camera and made some shoots of Gašper and us, then I set up the camera and I gave it to Gašper. He made these two photos.
It often happens that we miss the way or don't come to the right place. And all these "mistakes" have the potential to become moments that stay in memory. Moments that are really fully experienced and significant. These are the "mistakes" that make life sweeter. And we made this "mistake" totally ours :).

:) Nič - trenirka, čevlji, šal, kapa, bunda, fotoaprat in gremo.
Na prvi fotografiji je hrib Sekirica. Ko sva prišla naokoli in gor na hrib z druge strani, se je sonce že spustilo in se svetilo skozi smreke. In res sta se mi zdeli veličastni - dve novoletni smreki okrašeni s sončevo lučjo.

Eng: It seemed to me that it was already too long, from the last time I've felt the sun on my skin. And when the skies cleared up yesterday and everything was shining of freshly fallen snow - it seemed that life was really calling me. (Hey Iva, come on over!) :). So, sweatshirt/pants, shoes, scarf, hat, jacket, camera and off we go.
The first photograph is a hill Sekirica. When we came around and up the hill on the other side, the sun has dropped and was shining through the spruces. And they seemed magnificent to me - two New Year's spruces decorated with sun's light.

Mali mislec

Zadnja dva tedna sem večinoma doma in študiram. Danes zjutraj sem morala ven in zunaj je bilo res prelepo.
Figurice so bile najpogosteje izjemno stilizirane upodobitve ženskega telesa.
In ker sem tokrat pri prevajanju Tukidida (knjiga) in je zunaj sneg in se bom zagotovo šla sankat, sta nastala ta dva posnetka.

Eng: The last two weeks I was mostly at home and studying. This morning I had to get out and it was really beautiful outside. It was not as cold as previous days. It was really good to breathe :). I decided to make myself a winter-study memory.
Small thinker is some charming archaic copy influenced by Rodin's The Thinker. I got it as a gift from Santorini. Santorini island is part of a group of islands called the Cyclades. This stylized statue is a copy of the old figures, which were found by archaeologists in the Cyclades. Between 3300 and 2000 BC the Cyclades had developed so-called Cycladic art. A characteristic of the figures is that they are geometric, simple, only the minimum is pointed out, they were made of marble from the island. Today, they are beige, but it is assumed that they were colored. Figures are mostly highly stylized representations of the female human form.
When I study, the greek small thinker is always on the table. And this time the photos are like this because I'm in translating Thucydides (book) and there is snow outside and I'll definitely go sledging.
